About Tarisí

Tairsí, pronounced tar-sha, an Irish word that means “threshold,” is the end of life doula practice of Brianna Kocka. Based in Minneapolis, MN, I provide death doula services rooted in the International End of Life Doula Association’s (INELDA) three phase model.

About Brianna

I am a Minnesota native with a BA in literature and philosophy (2011) from St. Stephen’s University; two fields of study which began my deep interest in myth, ritual, and meaning making. I similarly received my certificate in spiritual formation and worship studies from St. Stephen’s University in 2008.

After a decade of personal experiences with grief, loss and bereavement, I felt a call to become an end of life doula (what is also sometimes called a death doula). In early 2021, I received my end of life doula training through INELDA in order to begin practicing the sacred and important work of holding both spiritual and emotional space for the dying, their loved ones, and their caregivers.

I am a member of the International End of Life Doula Association, the National End of Life Doula Alliance, and the Minnesota Death Collaborative.

Statement of Anti-Racism and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

In recognition of the diverse collection of identities, experiences and perspectives that make humanity vibrant but are often historically marginalized, and with acknowledgment of both the overt racism, and systemic white supremacy experienced by Black, Brown and Indigenous people worldwide, I am committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racist practices in my doula work and daily life.
